JVW Football Club Star released from National Duty after sustaining injury
JVW Football Club will be without one of their key players, Gabriela Salgado, after she fructured her collarbone in a match against Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies on Wednesday 8 June 2022
In a season where much has been going for them, JVW Football Club recently announced that Gabriela Salgado will be out of action for the next six to eight weeks
The well decorated midfielder is reportedly to have fallen in the HollywoodBets Super league where the Blue Diamonds suffered their second defeat of the season at the hands of Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies
Salgado whose made several appearances for Banyana Banyana and boasts of 7 goals in 10 matches in the Hollywood Bets Super League, had been selected for Banyana Banyana's Africa Women's Cup Of Nations squad of 33.
The Blue Diamonds are currently number 3 on the HollywoodBets Super League and Salgado has been very influential in the team's victory
However, when it rains it pours for the Blue Diamonds as Salgado joins a number of players who've been injured through out the league. It's only been 10 games into the league but a number of good players are still seated on the sidelines due to sustained injuries
On the day Salgado was injured, another well decorated defender, Erin Herz, who was on the starting line up against Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies was stung by a bee and she suffered an allergic reaction which resulted in her being replaced before the game against the Celtic Ladies started.
Another heavy blow to the Blue Diamonds was when the talented forward Nokwazi Mnomiya suffered a fractured ankle seconds after scoring an opening goal in the match against Thunderbird Ladies. Despite Mnomiya not being able to finish the match, the Blue Diamonds managed to secure themselves three points after a 2-1 win against the Thunderbird Ladies.
The Blue Diamonds are also without midfielder Jade Leask, Nomathemba Ntsibande (midfielder), Alochia Lelaka (defender) and Talia Swartbooi (midfielder)
